Recycling Moods

Inspiration can come from the most mysterious places for designers. For Fall and Winter be prepared for the moods of the past to be brought back to life. For the season themes, for juniors, is a collection that captures the moods from our favorite eras. The women you pretended to be as children are coming alive through boxy and protracted silhouettes. Iconic figures are being shown such as the boarding school girl, 50's tough girl, and the fair maiden. All of the moods sharing a common theme of silhouettes coming away from the body and the proportions becoming far more strung out and squared.

50's Twist
More of a good girl gone bad type of look. Inspiration comes from the two sides of the 50's that we love; biker jackets and poodle skirts. Mixing leather with pearls will be typical come winter for this look. It all comes out with layers or belted cardigan, high heels and pleated pink skirts.
Fair Madden
This romance and regency mood will focus largely on a red color palette. The clothing will appear to give a sense of elegance with languorous ripples of fabric. In winter you will see the usage of fur throughout the collection.
Moto Girl
Got a need for speed? This mood pulls from having the need for speed. Leather jackets and patches of leather will be a staple in this look. Colors will be dulled down; except for one pop of a bold orange, soft pink, or bright white.
Boarding School Girl
This look channels the "I'm studious but not completely pedantic" girl. Longer hem lines will fade into play with coy silhouettes. Outfits will be paired with booties or solid colored heels. Thick socks and small leather bags will complete the look.
70's  Psychedelics
This trend focuses on prints and colors for it's story. Do not confuse it for "hippie". There is use of belted waists, cropped jackets, abstract shapes and an array of colors.
